How it works

This tool preselects a 256x256 square. You can crop to fill the square, fit inside with background space, or switch output formats.

The size is useful for small avatars, interface icons and lightweight thumbnail images.

Privacy

ResizeKit performs the resize in browser memory and does not upload your image.

Limitations

Very detailed images lose detail at 256 pixels. Start with a clear, centered source image when possible.
